Kevin J. Warrian BA (Hons.), BSc. (Med), MA, MD, FRCSC
Dr. Warrian completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey Eye Institute. His fellowship training includes a clinical research fellowship in glaucoma at Wills Eye Hospital and two years of vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the University of Calgary. Following his training in Calgary, he completed additional training at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida focused on vitreoretinal diseases.
He has been extensively involved in ophthalmology teaching of fellows, residents and medical students and he has been honoured with faculty of medicine teaching awards for education. Currently he serves as the standing examiner for surgical simulation for ophthalmic surgery and has been a microsurgical surgery instructor for the Department of Surgery at the University of Calgary for many years.
He has published original research in many peer reviewed journals and has presented original research at many national and international conferences. He continues to serve as an invited reviewer for many ophthalmology journals and has been recognized by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) as a Top Reviewer by the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s lead journal - Ophthalmology.
He currently is in full time ophthalmology practice in Calgary and provides the full range of medical and surgical retina care.
